I created this space as a sanctuary for those called to earth-based, creative, and embodied feminine leadership in these times of profound transformation.
I believe we are living through what Frances Weller calls the Long Dark - a collective initiation where the stories that once gave us security and direction are dissolving faster than we can make sense of them. In the face of societal collapse and mass extinction, we're being called into a deeper relationship with death, with the living world, and with the fierce, creative life force that wants to emerge through us.
This substack is for those who sense that learning to live well - and love well - requires us to move beyond the conditioning of modernity that separates us from the earth and from our own cyclical nature. Here, we explore what it means to be cultural death doulas, midwiving the end of expired stories while simultaneously nurturing what wants to be born.
Everything produced here is a dive into the liminal territories where transformation happens which is often the places we are conditioned to avoid. Alongside you, I am walking into places that will expand my capacity to be with discomfort, uncertainty, and the unknown. I think this is important work because our individual healing and creative expression is inseparable from our collective healing, and I believe that when we return to relationship with the living world we are recieving medicine our western minds can barely comprehend.
As a sanctuary space, I want to have difficult and confronting conversation. Those ready to step into their role as earth-based leaders need to move beyond spiritual bypassing or premature celebration of collapse, but engage in the patient, devoted work of learning to feel fully, to grieve deeply, and to allow the sheer magnitude of life force to move through us as these old systems dissolve.
