The only thing you are responsible for is your soul.
When you do not honour what your soul is calling you into, for whatever reason (there are so many reasons), you will develop a tendency to mask, hide, project, or perform in order to ‘stay safe’. This might serve for a time, but eventually, if you are committed to your soul, you will be presented with experiences that will drop you to your knees and in this position your only option is to allow for soul level truth to emerge through you.
This is how I understand and experience authenticity and why it is essential for growth, expansion and service, especially in moments when we are faced with a necessary death.
In this episode, I share some reflections on how authenticity and responsibility are connected and why allowing for difficult truths and experiences to move us into aligned action can radically transform our lives.
As I am in such an experience with the death of what was a very meaningful creative relationship and project, I also give voice to how vulnerability is one of the most generative experiences when we are standing at a major threshold (which death is always leading us towards).
We so often push discomfort and vulnerability away because of the culture we are raised in, but there is an animacy to such soul encounters and when we let this animacy move us, so much life opens up.
But first, there is the reckoning around what we are being invited to take greater responsibility for, the stretching outside of our comfort zone and the allowing of death to take us into the underworld where we meet our shadows and wounds.
Only then can we fully experience the re-birth on a soul level. It can, after a lot of practice and trust, move quickly, but when there is resistance, fear or judgement, this process can hold us in the underworld for a long time.
I am not prescribing a one-size-fits-all solution for what is a very nuanced aspect of the human experience. This is simply my own testimony.
